The SIkhs

I was given the opportunity to travel with a caravan of returning Punjab Sikh's to the Golden temple in Amristar from Manikaran which is located in the Parvati Valley between the Beas and Parvati rivers in Northern India by Lorrie.

The Sikh's took me in and made me family.
It was something that I will never forget.
The kindness and love these people bestowed upon me was a demonstration of the pureness that still exists throughout the world.
We made our 400km journey enjoying the beautiful scenery along with newly forged friendships sleeping tightly bundled all together.

India presented it's beauty to me and I'm simply here to try and pass what I experienced along to others which is that despite one's ethnicity, upbringing, color, race, age, sex we all posses the inherit right to lead a life of love and equality.

This is what brings me to my next point though, unfortunately, and that is the blind ignorance that for some reason still persist through out the world today.

I'm a photographer who would like to try and dispel any ill conceived feelings towards the Sikh's in America as well as over seas by sharing my encounter.

I came across a piece that was featured on Huffington Post that Pardeep Sing Bahra put together.  "Don't Freak I'm Sikh".
Where Pardeep put so eloquently;

"Don't' freak I'm Sikh so the next time you see a turbaned man walking the streets remember that he's a man of love, equality, and peace.  We are taught to love and protect people from all religions and races."

I highly recommend all to take a moment and watch this video.

The images here are from the 400km trip that I took with the returning Sikh's where I was surrounded by love and curiosity that all of us secretly posses.

India is a place that has changed my life and brought to me a sense of new found love and purpose that I'll be for ever expressing.
